Morning Frost

Cold feet curled in a cold bed.
Twisting toes seeking warmth.
Fingers searching for a grasp of heat.
Lost somewhere in the fragments of dreams.

You are the empty pillow next to my head.
The faded phantom inside my fantasies.
Lingering but never disappearing.
You are winter’s morning frost.

Cold hands shivering in cold pockets.
Arms hugging own shoulders tight.
There is no one to hold onto.
Warmth stolen away by passing days.

You are the empty seat next to mine.
The faded footsteps on a snowy night.
Faint but not completely gone.
You are winter’s morning frost.

What an ethereal poem. Love! Such
love and longing threads each line.

Gorgeous writing. So much of love and ache and loneliness.
