Overwhelming Outbreak

Sandra Sully from Ten's Early news, said there was an outbreak.
Fire on roof tops. Bricks breaking windows.
Drunkards preaching, "End of the World."
Concrete roads were cracking, breaking apart.
Hell was rising to meet us.
The living-dead staggering through the streets.
People were losing their minds to disbelief.
Children crying themselves to sleep.
Adults foolishly trying to kill zombies.
Looting stores. Raping women.
Limbs tangled in the gutter.
Blood flowing down the drain.
The sky rains bomb shells.
It was survival of the fittest.
We've succumbed to anarchy.
It's an apocalypse.
God has finally given up on this world.

You're somewhat like Romeo

You and I are like Romeo and Juliet.
You scream out my name in between the hours of late and morning.
I run outside onto the balcony with only my thin nightgown to caress my body.
You grin up at me with that smile that's up to no good.
And I can't help but smile too.
At how suspicious we both are.
At how the neighbours are sneaking glances at us.
And the fact that I don't care at all.
They can stare and whisper behind their curtains, all they want.
Because, you and I are like Romeo and Juliet.
And I'm looking for adventure outside my four-walled boredom.
You're my get-away horse with your tainted armour.
I bundle my gown in my arms and fly down the sky.
You catch me like you're always there, waiting.
We thunder down the shadowed buildings of sleepers.
Nothing can stop us now.
The world is ours to conquer.
Because, you and I are like Romeo and Juliet.
And we're up to no good.

Midnight

In between sleep and my insanity, I wonder why I'm still up at night.
I watch as the seconds go by and feel the burden of my eyelids.
I am tempted by the softness of my bedsheets like lying between the clouds.
No. Don't be fooled.
You'll fall between the silver linings.
It's a lie.
You'll be caught in the arms of ogres.
You'll be pulled from your hinges like a rag doll, drooled on like a dog bone.
Don't fall asleep, or you'll hear the screams from those fallen into Hell.
Fall asleep and I'll drown in the tears of fabrication and fantasy.
I don't want to wake up.
I don't want to fall asleep.
Outside my window, I hear the lullaby of the nightingale.
I imagine spearing it with my sword and drinking the elixir of its life.
The delusion of its song rings through my ears.
It cries inside my stomach, "You've fallen asleep"

Desperate little girl

You know you're desperate for a boyfriend when you check out every cute guy within 5 metres from you.

The nice boy with dreadlocks from class who spends his free time helping homeless people.
The cute cashier boy from the grocery store who gave you a warm smile as you left.
Your brother's friend who constantly worries whether or not you'll be raped by housemates.
The friendly boy who catches the same bus home with you every week.
The really kind martial arts instructor who offered to drive you to your brother.
Your family friend who got a growth spurt a few years back and is suddenly a hunk.

Yeah.... This list can go on forever.

Untitled

Note: a simple poem thought while waiting for my next class.

Tired souls, lets lie under the sky
Imagine that theres only you and I.
Holding hands while we fly.
Not fearing, we simply die.
In our minds of loving lies.
We hear no tears or broken cries.
And that is why.
I say, farewell and goodbye.

Do you know?

I want to write. I need to write. I want to communicate. There is something on the tip of my tongue. It tastes of memories that's sweet as honey. But there is a hint of something that its just outside of my vocabulary. I'm searching. I'm searching through references and cookbooks. Everywhere. And yet.

No where.

I have found nothing.

The words just form endless sentences of random images. Raindrops on fading rainbows. Snowboarding on hills of cotton candy. Where do I go from here? What am I searching for? I have no  idea where this is going. What is the meaning of all this Time? What is the meaning of you and I? What am I to you? When will Time heal? Why do I keep on asking questions when there are no answers? Why am I so quiet yet restless? What is it to be human? What is Love? What is that word? What am I searching for?

Do you know?

Summer

Sweat drops fall off my nose like tears.
Hair sticks to the back of my neck.
Wearing close to no clothing but still
Feels like I'm wearing a fur coat.
Sleeping with limbs sprawled out
And blankets kicked off bed.
The day crawls by longer than usual
With no swimming pool to dip my toes in.
Opening and closing fridge doors to bathe
In the almost Arctic breeze.
Bliss.
Fleeting.
Face burns when outside of house.
Nights feels like a trip to the Sun.
Nothing but drowning in a tub of ice
Would soothe the peeling skin.
Hot.
Sweaty.
Dizzy.
Australian summer.

A list of things I love

Note: When you need something to smile about, it's always good to list down things that makes you happy. Inspired by Rachel over at Fat is not a feeling.

- - - - - - - -

1. Walking in the rain with your whole body drenched and your clothes sticking to your back. That feeling is so refreshing that nothing else can compare. It brings about a sense of cleansing that a normal shower doesn't.

2. The aroma of freshly baked cookies. The smell of vanilla, chocolate and baking soda engulfing you when you open the oven door.

3. Having a larger hand in yours. Holding the hand of a man always makes me feel warm and safe.

4. White chocolate. What is there not to love about it? It's rich and creamy and its CHOCOLATE!!

5. Waking before dawn and just lying in bed, watching the sky slowly brighten and listening to the sounds of birds waking and flying away to find breakfast.

6. Daydreaming about double rainbows and fated meetings.

7. Resting my head on the shoulder of a boy and pretending that I'm asleep, while secretly listening to his breathing and bathing in his warmth.

8. Reading a good book in my warm bed with my dog curled between my legs and my fingers running through her fur. (I miss Yuki!!!)

9. Star gazing on a clear night with friends and our backs on the ground, pretending that the stars are ours to grasp.

10. Sticking my hands into clay and slowly molding and smoothing it out until a figure or an expression appears.

11. Meeting eyes with a cute boy on the street, knowing that we're holding our gaze a little longer than necessary and walking away with a smile. That always brightens my day. It's such a special and secretive feeling.

12. Collapsing onto my bed after a long and tiring day of studying.

13. The feeling of completing a story after hours of writing and editing. Such a great feeling of pride and relief.

14. Eating ice cream on a hot and sweaty day of Summer (actually eating ice cream in general).

15. Having long conversations into the night about anything and yet nothing.

16. Long walks aimlessly no where and getting lost but not really caring because getting lost is fun unless you're on a tight schedule.

17. The smell of new books on the shelf. Old books makes me sneeze because of all the dust.

18. Receiving emails and texts from friends and someone special.

19. Digging my toes into the sand while drawing stick figures with my fingers and watching the waves come crashing in.

20. Listening to the sound of the guitar with my eyes closed and my head resting on my arms, allowing the strumming to rock me to sleep.

Love. Sex. Body.

Lately, I've been having discussions with people about sex, love and the body. Different people have different opinions on such matters. And over time, those views may change but I know that the media has a heavy influence on teens and young adults. For good or for worse.

Love
That word has a different definition for everyone but it's something we all want at one point in our lives. From observing people around me, I know that a hell lot of young adults drift from one relationship to another and in a span of one year they could have at least 5 partners. The word Love is quite complex and yet at the same time very vague. It could be applied to anyone and at the same time only one person. There are people who walk around and speak it so casually than there are the people who cannot for the life of them utter that four letter word.

Because of my interest in romance as Literature, I've read many novels. And some of them speak of "Love at first sight". Is such a thing possible? Is it possible to meet someone for the first time and instantly know that you want to spend the rest of your life with them? And what about that fictional character that every 7 year old girl dreams of: Prince Charming. Does he exist? Or do all men think alike? I think Literature and films have raised the standards of many girls. They give girls images of the "Perfect man", whether that is a sparkly vampire or a muscular werewolf or an out of this world superhuman; those images are hard for real men to compete with. But that works both ways. The media heavily influence men with their viewpoint of women but I will talk about that later.

Sex
With this ever growing world, views on sex and intimacy are always changing. There was once a time where people used to only have intercourse with their wife/husband but now we live in a time period where even 12 year old girls get pregnant. I don't know about you, but I find it very strange for my 9 year old brother to be talking about and I quote "Boobs", "D*icks" and "Vaginas". Is there not something wrong with this picture? Or is it just me?

The media really makes as though sex is not a big deal any more. Casual sex seems to be a norm in this society, along with alcohol. Drunken one-night-stands are also a regular on TV dramas and what not. It really devalues long stable relationships. I know that there are many people my age who are no longer virgins and may look down on me. A couple of weeks ago my 15 year old brother asked me, "How come you didn't want to lose your virginity in high school?" I was quite shocked with this question. It's quite ironic but my younger brother has more experience with relationships than I do but my answer is always the same, "I didn't want to give it to some loser who will most likely break up with me in a few months."

Now I know, many people don't view their virginity as something important and my opinion is very old fashioned and maybe even lame to some people but I'm not going to change it. And I won't force you to change yours. Each to their own. But to me, my body is precious and I'm not going to let just anyone touch it. Especially someone who doesn't respect me. If I don't respect myself first, who will?

Body
Teenagers and young adults are easily influenced by the media and others surrounding them. It puts pressure on both girls and boys to be "Perfect". A little fat on the side could be received by snickers and criticism and it lowers self-esteem. All over TV and magazines, are photographs of insanely thin women or photoshoped images of people so beautiful that it's not real. Nevertheless, both girls and boys strive to become those artificial people. Girls want to be slim and have big cleavage and boys want to be tall and muscular. This leads to excessive exercise and less eating. Less eating and less eating until some don't even eat at all. This causes eating disorders.

Ugly. That word is feared by girls and by everyone. No one wants to be called ugly. Some believe that they are ugly just because their body don't fit the social norm. But the body of the social norm is not the healthy body. And healthy is cared less about compared to fitting in. I know that many people don't believe this but it really is what's in the inside that counts.

And dear readers, I may not know you personally but I believe everyone is beautiful. No one deserves to be called ugly. So don't call yourself that as we tend to be our own worse critic. You are beautiful and if someone tells you otherwise, you can punch them in the face!!! No I kid, don't but seriously, if someone calls you ugly than just walk away. Don't let those words hurt you.

Because you deserve more.

Questions stolen from Vencora who stole it from a Rabbit

Inspired by Vencora who joined the discussion at The Journey

1. What is your favourite word?
Love. Need I say more?

2. What is your least favourite word?
Cute. I actually don't hate the actual word but to be more precise the way people say the word in reference to myself. It becomes annoying after a few years of "OMG YOU'RE SO CUTE!!!" (insert high pitch screaming from random fan girls) or "Awwww you're so cute" (insert cheek pulling). Do I look like a walking teddy-bear or anything like a new born baby sucking on a lollipop to you??

3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Good music, good book, gentle voice, nice scent and the sound of the guitar

4. What turns you off?
Loud voices, cigarette breath and excessively arrogant people

5. What is your favourite curse word?
Fudge. (Yes, I try to associate sweets into everything)

6. What sound or noise do you love?
rain, guitar and my dog's murmur of snores

7. What sound or noise do you hate?
The crinkling of broken glass and extremely loud laughter

8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Acting-I like the idea of being able to change personalities and make it seem so real.
Fashion designer- Make pretty dresses

9. What profession would you not like to do?
Plumber- Not interested in touching anything related to sewage pipes
Soldier- I don't think I can ever shoot someone, even in defence of my own country.

10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Welcome to Heaven, here's your infinite supply of chocolate.

Ramblings of a nocturnal girl

Note: This is what happens when you take too many naps and your sleeping pattern becomes hell.

Taking naps every day like a cat and realising I can't sleep at night
Trying to return to sleep but ending up lying in bed
With spinning thoughts and butterflies in stomach.
I'm replaying memories in my head like a broken movie projector
And laughing seemingly for no apparent reason like a lunatic.
I wonder if there are unicorns flying in the poker dot sky.
My sentences don't make any sense
And maybe I'm drunk
But I don't recall ever taking a sip of alcohol.
The ability to read minds would be pretty convenient
You would be able to know what people really think
And don't have to take second guesses as to which door is correct.
But then where would be the fun in knowing everything?
There would be no surprises.
Slowly my eyes are becoming heavy with waiting
And I'm disappointed in not talking to you today
I shouldn't have taken that nap
But there is always another chance.
We're still young.
I'm listening to music that's no longer on repeat
And I realised that it's been a while since I done that.
It feels good to finally be moving along my playlist.
I'm looking forward to the end of my first university year.
There will be a long holiday as reward waiting for me
And a list of hobbies to pick up that was on hiatus.
Learning guitar with a new friend.
Natural dying fabric to see the what colours will bloom
And sewing dresses out of self-coloured cloths.
Reading books that I didn't have the time for.
Returning to writings that I abandoned.
The year seemed to have gone by so quickly
But I'm happy
Because its been a good year.
I've met heaps of new friends.
Got used to travelling to and from university.
But will always despise the claustrophobia of trains.
Got my driving licence and lost my licence (will get it back soon).
Gave away my precious dog to a relative
But knows confidently that she loves me more.
After all, I'm the one who raised her all these years.
Blowing bubbles is like watching falling stars
Watching the delusional rainbows that pop with a tiny crackle
But no wishing is needed now.
I'll work hard to achieve my own goals.
Please don't be mistaken
I'll always remain a hopeless romantic
There is no cure from such an intoxicating addiction.
I realise that this is becoming quite long....
Should probably end it before everyone runs away.
Peace out Beloved Lovesick Fools.

Screw men
I'm tired of waiting
I'll learn the guitar
And serenade myself to sleep

Alpha males and Male idiocy

I seem to be unable to stick to one blog design. After a while, I get bored of it and change, so my blog constantly changes background.....But I think I finally found the ONE. It's the sky!!! I absolutely love the sky whether its day or night, I could sit and gaze at it forever.
Any who, onto today's post.....
-------------------------

It is well known that in nature, males of a species generally mammals, fight for the role of the Alpha male.
Sometimes, its a fight to the death and with lions, the cub of the previous Alpha male are killed by the new leader. I suppose, an official leader is needed to ensure the smooth running of their community but how does that explain men?

It is as though I'm living in the jungle. The men and boys around me are always competing with each other, trying to determine who is the superior being. Methods of decision, come in many forms from beating your enemy at pool to who has the most kill on COD (Call of duty) to who can get most of the girls' attention to the most primitive form: Physical strength.

Some of the things males do to prove their supremacy is so idiotic such as who is brave (moronic) enough to jump off my house's balcony to who can watch Two Girls One Cup without vomiting (DON'T EVER WATCH IT!!!) to who is the last one to get drunk to who can climb to the highest branch on a tree.

Males seem to have a lot of pride and consider it to be extremely important to be the dominant one when there is another male nearby. It just goes to show that even though humans claim to be far more civilised than other species, we're still animals.

I personally don't care who is the alpha male between my brother and our cousin because as the eldest in the family, after my parents, my word is absolute. I'm the Alpha. Muahahaha!!!

Time

Time.
Its a cruel but definite word.
But its also reassuring. Healing at wounds.
Time changes everything.
Its as concrete as Death.
Death.
Its a cruel but definite word.
Its the end of everything. But also the beginning.
Death is time at a stand still.
Nothing is changed.
Love.
Its a cruel but definite word.
The only thing that is beautiful. My only wish.
It has all the time in the world.
But I can't wait.
Every minute counts.

Ms PMS

Lately, I have been quite a moody person to be around. What annoys me is that I, myself still have not found the source of irritation. There could be many reasons to this and of course my beloved followers could add to the list if they desire

Source of Mood Swings

1. Lack of Sleep
2. Living next to my ex-boyfriend
3. Being bombarded with questions all through the day
4. Cravings for sweets (guilty sweet-tooth)
5. Frustrations of nothingness
6. Aliens are influencing my brainwaves
7.Anxiousness
8. Bored
9. PMS
10. Heartbroken that a certain guitarist has not spoken to me in a while
