Insomnia

It's currently 3.23am. It's dark outside my window and I can hear my parents sleeping peacefully in the next room. Last night, I went to bed at 11pm but didn't fall asleep until 12 this morning. Then I woke up at 2 and after an hour of endless tossing and turning I gave up. So here I am eating noodles and clearly very very awake.

It's been like this for a week now. Most of the time, I stay in bed awake for around 2 hours than fall asleep for around 1-2 hours than wake up for another 2-3 hours. Its usually around early morning that my mind eventually switches off. My mind seems to be on overdrive: It thinks and thinks and thinks until there's nothing left. And I'm left tired and sleepy in the morning so I stay in bed until the afternoon. The only good thing about this is that it means my university break will pass by quickly. Then I would be too tired from the studying to think of anything.

Insomnia is the worst. It alone can drive a person crazy. I hope you get some sleep soon.

i've been dealing with a bit of insomnia myself lately and i've tried every home remedy from melatonin supplements to herbal teas. nothing works. i definitely understand what you mean about the mind being on overdrive.
