Pull and push. Pull and push.
I'm always playing a game of tug-o-war.
Pull him closer. Reel in the fish. Hold him closer to your heart.
But don't let him hear how much it hurts.
Don't let him know how much he really values.
He's a mere codfish. Just like the many others.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
After being so close to your insides but not quite touching,
Throw him far away into the sea.
Pull and push. Pull and push.
I don't want him close when can't have him.
Scrunch him up like newspaper and throw away.
Just like my heart that was never caught.
Push and throw away.
If I close my eyes, the words would fall onto paper. They would shift into place and arrange into art. They would describe a story of great love and adventure. I just need to close my eyes and dream.

Wow Lucy, this is heartbreaking but kinda beautiful at the same time.
lately i've been trying to tell myself it's okay to fall in love. trying not feel fatalistic about my latest crush. usually when i fall for people nothing comes of it but me eventually crying.
anyway, this poem reminded me of some thoughts i had earlier this week.
Are you sad? :(
@Barry: Thank you
@Lovekyne: There's nothing wrong about falling in love. But it does feel that way when it doesn't turn out mutual.
@Cheryl: I guess, I'm a little sad. >.<
