Love. And my Obession

He says he can't imagine why some people are obsessed with Love.
I know he's directing that question at me, the hopeless romantic.
I find it very ironic hearing that from him, since he's the one in a committed relationship.
Yet, I wonder why he doesn't understand.

Silently I answer to myself, because I don't need to justify to him.
And partly because I'm scared he'd laugh at my fear.
"I can see myself dying alone. And I don't want that."
I don't want that at all.

To me, there is nothing more beautiful than Love.
It's your heart being occupied by so many and yet only one.
It's something that can transform people,
For better or for worse

Some people may never meet that person,
Who is on the other side of that red thread,
Either they're unlucky or married to their cats.
Frankly, I don't want to be either.

He says he can't imagine why some people are obsessed with Love.
And I say "There is every reason to be"

Everyone wants love. It's a basic human need. And the fear of dying alone is also pretty basic, it doesn't mean that someone is obsessed with love. No one wants to be alone in the world. No matter how independent they are. - G
